It's the Sign of the Times: You Need Human Website Copy

The first time I moved out of my house was when I was 25.
I went scouring for a house that fit within my budget. I swear, this has got to do something with human website copy. Anyway, back to the story - I lived by myself for two years in two different houses:
House 1 was okay, but not that great.
Livable and freeing. Sometimes it was super chaotic ‘cause of my neighbours. My doors had flimsy security and I would have nightmares. But, I was closer to my friends than ever. 👀
House 2 was, and still is, the LOML. 🥰
I said yes the first time I saw it. It helped me navigate through the ebbs and flows. It even turned into a sanctuary for so many of my friends. Not taunting you with its status, but welcoming you in. That’s how good biz offers work as well, you know?
They should make you feel sunshine and rainbows and not torrential storms. When you’ve found the right combination of offers for your business, you’ll know.
But if something feels amiss, no need to panic.
You don’t need to throw everything down the drain just because something’s not working in your biz. It’s about those soft pivots.
These are three signs your business or offer is in need of either a pivot or maybe just a copy spruce-up (from a human copywriter, of course).
Sign 1: You're tired of all the tough love
Forcing yourself through overwhelm is only going to get you so far. As much as the online marketing girlies & dudebros may make it seem, business shouldn’t always be about selling, selling, selling.
Some days are going to be all about that $$$, while others are about changing your paths. Slowly, gradually, and mindfully making edits. Sometimes you’ve got to take a step back to recenter yourself. Take the time to evaluate your business and whether the direction it’s going in feels right to you.
Are you working with the right peeps? Standing up for the causes you believe in and values you embody? Trust me, people are paying attention to those things just as much as they’re paying attention to how you talk about your business.
If your nervous system is overloaded, it’s a sign to simplify. Go back to the basics, like focusing on your community and relationships (and maybe revisiting your website copy that you probably haven’t touched since ChatGPT wrote it for you).
Sign 2: You're not confident in your product offering
Even if you come with a batshit amount of experience, maybe you’re facing a pesky case of imposter syndrome. Not because you’re not talented or skilled. But when you’re so close to your offers, it can be hard to see potential areas of improvement. Maybe all you need is a peer or mentor who can put their eyes on your stuff and give you an honest opinion.
Or maybe adding something to the offer that would 2x the value without making it difficult for you could boost your confidence. Sometimes, though, it’s not actually your business or offer that needs overhauling. It’s that you need to pivot your copy, because it sounds like everyone else’s and just isn’t doing it for you, or anyone else, for that matter (*cough GenAI cough).
If you’re constantly sensing confusion about the value or ROI of your product/offering, and you KNOW it’s good, the problem is probably how you’re talking about it. Grab A Chair, my copy audit service, is the intervention you need to make your offer stand out.
Sign 3: You're constantly trying new marketing strategies (that don't work)
As a human copywriter who works with e-commerce baddies and D2C brands, let me just tell you, biz bestie to bestie: a great offer isn’t always enough on its own.
Tell me if any of this sounds familiar: You’ve tried imitating the major players in your industry. After all, why not follow their proven roadmap to success? Yet, you’re hearing nothing but crickets… and your sales are dead.
The problem here isn’t your product, bestie.
It’s that recycling the same marketing strategies and messaging that those big brands are using is zapping the heart out of your small biz. It’s blurring your brand’s identity and making it harder to find the words that actually generate SALES.
I’m saying this with all the gentleness and care, because you don't need yet another person rubbing salt into your low-sales-driving website. What you actually need is a human website copywriter who hypes you up while helping you find the right words to sell your amazing product. And I’ve got you, boo!
Whether you’ve come to the conclusion it’s time to pivot your business or just decided your copy needs a more professional touch, I can help you build something that tells a story but also SELLS. With The Couch Treatment, you get human website copy that doesn't sound robotic or overused.
So, get comfy on my copy couch, tell me about your brand, and let's create something that makes people BUY the heck out of your product. You can find out all the deets here.
